Game Overview
The goal of baccarat is to get a hand with a point of value that is closest to 9. The game is played with 3, 4, 6 or 8 decks of cards which are shuffled by the shoe.
When you play baccarat, you need to bet on the player’s hand or the banker’s hand and if you are right, you win. Additionally, you can bet on the option that the hand will be tie.
Online Baccarat Rules
Play baccarat to see that the rules are really quite simple. The cards from 2 to 9 are counted at face value while the Ace is counted as 1. The picture cards on the other hand, are counted as zero. When you add the card totals together, the number that counts is the right-hand digit.

Once the cards are shuffled and placed in the shoe (dealing device) you can play baccarat. At the start, four cards are dealt. The first and the third card are for the player and the second and fourth card are the banker’s hand. If needed a third card is dealt to the player. Based on the outcome of that card, a third card may be dealt to the banker as well. The decks get shuffled each hand.

Third Card Rules
When you play baccarat the third card is situational and below we will explain how it works for both the player and the banker.
Player

Banker
If the player decides to stand, the banker will draw only if he has a total of 5 or less. However, if the player draws, several things can occur and the table below can explain them better.

Keep in mind that if the player or the banker’s hand have a total of either 8 or 9, they both have to stand. While you play baccarat, you will notice that this rule overrides all the other rules.
Play Baccarat Betting Limits & Winnings
The minimum bet you can make when you play baccarat is 1 mBTC while the maximum one is 100. There are several chip denominations and the player can click on each to set the betting amount.
Understanding how the winnings work is pretty simple as well:
- The hand with a total points value closest to 9, wins.
- If you bet on the player and his hand wins the returns are at 2 to 1 odds.
- The same odds are present if you bet on the banker’s hand but in this case a 5% commission is deducted from your winnings.
- If both the player’s and the banker’s hand have equal points, then its a tie. Players can also bet on the tie and guessing right will bring them winnings at 8 to 1 odds.
- All non-tie bets that were made when a tie occurs are returned to the player.
